A distinctive Alsta chronograph dating to the late 1960s, housed in a robust stainless steel case with oversized pump pushers and a tachymeter scale calibrated in miles. Powered by the legendary manual-wind Valjoux 72, signed J.P. Pingouin, the movement is housed within a case also signed J.P. Pingouin Co., a respected Swiss case maker of the period.
The black dial is brought to life by bold red accents, including the lollipop chronograph seconds hand and 30-minute counter, while the large arrow handset and three-register layout give the watch a purposeful sporting character. The luminous hour markers have aged to a warm cream tone, contrasting nicely against the black dial.
Signed Incabloc for shock protection, this Alsta captures the charm and character of a period tool chronograph while remaining highly wearable today. Fitted with a brown leather strap.
