An attractive vintage Mido Multi-Centerchrono chronograph in rustless steel, produced during the 1940s. Housed in a 35mm François Borgel-style case, the watch is distinguished by its centralized chronograph display, with elapsed seconds indicated by a striking red arrow hand rather than a conventional subsidiary register.
The dial has developed a pleasing patina over the decades and features luminous Arabic numerals, blue telemeter markings, and sword-shaped hands showing partial lume loss. The original luminous numerals remain reactive under UV light. The case retains its original crown and pushers, while the movement is the Mido-signed Valjoux VX caliber 1300, a manual-wind chronograph movement produced exclusively for Mido.
All chronograph functions operate correctly and reset as intended. An appealing example of one of Mido's more distinctive chronograph designs, combining uncommon mechanics with plenty of vintage character.
