A vintage Longines from circa 1953, housed in a 14k yellow gold APEX-made case distinguished by beautifully sculpted claw-like lugs that lend the dress watch a bold mid-century character. The silvered two-tone dial has developed an attractive patina and features a ring of gilt pelage minute dots, applied faceted hour markers with oversized Arabic numerals at the quarters, pointed dauphine hands, and a central seconds hand. The crown, likely a later replacement, tucks neatly into the side of the case, preserving the neat profile. Powered by the manual wind caliber 22LS and fitted with a custom-made olive Swift leather strap, this is a wonderfully sculptural Longines that captures the adventurous design language of the 1950s.
