A modern Rolex tool watch with a distinctive splash of color, this Explorer II reference 216570 features a 42mm stainless steel Oyster case paired with its fixed brushed 24-hour bezel. Introduced in 2011, the 216570 marked the 40th anniversary of the Explorer II and remained in production until 2021, making it the final generation powered by Rolex’s caliber 3187.

The black dial features oversized luminous hour markers and broad Mercedes hands, contrasted by the model’s signature orange 24-hour hand and matching Explorer II text. Working together with the fixed 24-hour bezel, the independently adjustable hour hand allows a second time zone to be tracked, while a magnified date window sits at 3 o’clock.

Powered by the Rolex caliber 3187 automatic chronometer movement and fitted with its stainless steel Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp and Easylink extension. The scrambled serial places it within Rolex’s modern production era but cannot be used to determine an exact year. A robust everyday Rolex with plenty of wrist presence, while the orange accents give the otherwise monochromatic Explorer II a character all its own.
