A modern Rolex sports watch with an orange accent, this Explorer II reference 216570 is the sought-after white-dial configuration commonly nicknamed the “Polar.” Introduced in 2011, the reference brought the Explorer II up to a substantial 42mm case while reviving the bright orange 24-hour hand in reference to the original Explorer II of the 1970s.

The crisp white dial is especially distinctive for its strong contrast, with oversized black-outlined hour markers and hands filled with Chromalight, joined by the bright orange arrow-shaped 24-hour hand and matching Explorer II signature. A fixed brushed-steel 24-hour bezel works together with the additional hand to display a second time zone, while the date at 3 o’clock completes the design.

Powered by the Rolex caliber 3187 automatic movement with an approximately 48-hour power reserve, it is fitted to its stainless steel Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp and Easylink extension.

Bold, highly legible, and a little more playful than the typical Rolex sports watch, the white dial and flashes of orange give the “Polar” an instantly recognizable look on the wrist.
