A great example of Corum’s iconic Coin Watch, this circa 1991 reference 50.145.56 incorporates a genuine 1904 U.S. $20 Liberty Head Double Eagle coin into its design. The eagle side serves as the dial, simply fitted with slim black hands, while the Liberty portrait and 1904 date are preserved on the reverse.
The coin is surrounded by an 18k yellow gold case with a finely detailed edge and slender lugs, finished with a diamond-set crown. Powered by a quartz movement. Fitted with a Corum brown alligator strap and Corum 18k yellow gold tang buckle.
What makes this example especially nice is the accompanying set: Corum outer box, leather pouch, wallet, Certificate of Guarantee dated September 18, 1991. A great example of Corum taking something already collectible in its own right and turning it into a remarkably thin and wearable watch.
