A nice vintage Omega Speedmaster Professional reference DD145.022 in stainless steel and 14k yellow gold, produced circa 1983. A rarer two-tone configuration and the first bi-color Speedmaster produced, the “DD” designation denotes Omega’s gold and steel variants made in comparatively limited numbers during the early 1980s, with relatively few 1983 examples known to surface today.
The oversized 42 mm round case with tapered lugs is fitted with a black tachymeter bezel with gilt scale. The champagne dial is designed with black and steel baton hour markers with lume plots, an outer black minute track, and luminous sword hands. Three silver registers contrast beautifully against the gilt-toned dial, tying together the two-tone presentation, while the matching bracelet is secured by a single deployant clasp. A special Speedmaster for the wearer who appreciates the more unusual corners of the model’s history.
