A vintage E. Gubelin watch with beautifully sculptural lugs, dating circa the 1940s in stainless steel. The silvered dial has developed patina and features triple calendar functions, with recessed flush correctors integrated into the case flank — the upper advancing the month and the lower advancing the pointer date indicated by the red arrow-tipped hand. The sweep seconds hand appears to have been replaced at some point, and the plexiglass shows icing.

Powered by an unsigned manual wind movement, this E. Gubelin was likely commissioned from a prestigious Swiss maker, as was common for the Lucerne jeweler during the period. An elegant and charming example bearing an earlier variation of the Gübelin signature.
