An unusual Rolex Cellini that we do not come across often, this reference 5204 dates to circa 1991 and wears similarly to the brand's classic 26mm Datejust, although in a dressier fashion. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the softly sculpted case and diamond-set shoulders give the watch a distinctive character, almost reminiscent of a cobra's hood. The warm cream dial is set with round diamond hour markers, save for the applied Rolex coronet at 12 o'clock, while the Cellini signature appears in elegant cursive script.
Powered by the manual-wind caliber 1400, the neo-vintage piece is fitted with a custom brown leather strap for an equestrian-inspired look and fastened by a Rolex 18k yellow gold tang buckle.
A charming departure from the more restrained Cellini references, this is a piece with plenty of personality and period character.
