A striking retro vintage watch in the spirit of 1970-80s designs by Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Mauboussin, this unbranded piece carries Swiss 18k gold hallmarks throughout.

The square case is richly sculpted with a rolled, rope-like bezel, accented by cabochon-set malachite terminals at either end, framing a vivid malachite dial with beautiful striations. The dial is kept intentionally minimal, featuring a single oversized Roman numeral at 12 o’clock and slim gold hands.

Unsigned throughout, including the crown, the watch is fitted with its original black alligator strap and an 18k gold buckle bearing the buckle maker’s “GD” Swiss .750 stamp. It is powered by a caliber 2512 manual-wind movement.

Likely produced for a high-end jeweller, as suggested by its use of gemstone and distinctive case design, this is a bold and unusual piece that captures the expressive glamour of the era.
