An intriguing Jaeger-LeCoultre Duoplan from the 1930s, combining strong Art Deco geometry with a wonderfully petite scale. The 18k yellow gold case, neither quite rectangular nor tonneau, houses a beautiful original two-tone dial with a warm rose-gilt center, applied dagger markers and oversized black Arabic numerals creating striking contrast.
The case features unusual extended double lug bars through which the black cord bracelet is threaded, accented by gold-plated fittings and fastened by a jewellery clasp stamped Unroc. A longer cord can be provided upon request for a more generous fit.
Powered by the Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 29 manual-wind Duoplan movement, an inventive two-level construction designed to fit within an exceptionally small case and wound from the caseback.
A charming little Art Deco Jaeger-LeCoultre with plenty of character, particularly for its unusual case construction and graphic original dial.
