A charming vintage Tudor reference 2705, likely dating to the late 1940s, with the Tudor rose logo consistent with the period. Crafted in 9k rose gold for the English market, the case back bears an engraving commemorating 45 years of service for British Rail’s North Eastern Region, adding a wonderful layer of provenance.
The white dial features applied Arabic numerals, aged lume plots that have lost strength over time, and sword-shaped hands with evenly aged lume. The subsidiary seconds register partially cuts into the 6 o’clock position, lending the dial a pleasing asymmetry. Powered by a caliber 1260 manual wind movement; the crown may have been replaced at some point.
The slim round case is paired with beautifully slender tapered lugs housing fixed bars, fitted with a black fold-over leather strap. A lovely preserved post-war Tudor with gentle aging, elegant proportions, and the sort of personal engraving that gives a vintage watch its own story.
