A handsome vintage Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph reference 1625 in stainless steel, crafted circa 1971. Often referred to by collectors as the "Thunderbird," the model bridges the gap between the classic Datejust and Rolex's early sport watches.
The 36mm steel case is fitted with its signature bidirectional white gold engine-turned bezel with minute graduations, lending the watch a more purposeful character while remaining firmly within classic Datejust territory. The non-luminous silver dial features applied baton hour markers with black centers, matching hands, and a date aperture at 3 o'clock.
Powered by the automatic Rolex caliber 1570, the watch is fitted with a taupe leather strap. The dial has developed a minimal patina over the decades, while the case appears to retain its original finish. A particularly appealing example of one of Rolex's more nuanced and often overlooked vintage references.
