Introduced in 1988, the Sea-Dweller 16600 is the more purpose-built sibling to the Submariner 16610. Designed for saturation diving, the stainless steel case incorporates a helium escape valve and wears noticeably more substantial on the wrist, while retaining the clean look of a crystal free from a Cyclops magnifier.

Dating to circa 1999, this example features a black "SWISS" dial configured with luminous dot, baton and triangle hour markers, Mercedes hands and an outer minute track. The unidirectional rotating bezel retains its black aluminum insert, while the watch is powered by Rolex's caliber 3135 automatic movement. Measuring 40mm across and approximately 14mm thick, it is fitted to a stainless steel Oyster bracelet with flip-lock clasp.

Among the most sought-after Sea-Dweller references, the 16600 strikes a sweet spot between vintage and modern Rolex design, retaining its aluminium bezel, drilled-lug era tool-watch character and no-nonsense appeal.
