A vintage Rolex Prince reference 3937 in 14k rose gold, crafted circa 1946-47. Wonderfully rare in such condition that would make a collector swoon, the large crown and 14k stamped on the case back is not easy to come by as they are usually polished away and suggests this Prince retains its original finish. The metal was most likely used for the American market, the norm for its time and the inner case is perfectly preserved with crisp hallmarks - view the photo for yourself. This particular Prince has a sunburst brushed effect on both sides of the case, which is unusual and not one we’ve come across, perhaps a precursor for future Cellini Princes. Features sculptural lugs playing into the case, silvered dial with raised rose gold Roman numeral hours for 12, 3, and 9:00 and stick markers and pointed hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial. Powered by a caliber 971A manual wind chronometer grade movement, beautifully crafted in nickel. Fitted with a brown lizard strap and its original ‘big logo’ plated buckle stamped plaque. This vintage doctor’s watch will not disappoint and just happens to include its original (and quite attractive) box.
