A beautifully patinated Omega Speedmaster Professional reference 145.022 in stainless steel, produced circa 1989. This special edition was released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing and was produced in a limited run of 4,000 unnumbered examples for the international market. The black dial has developed warm creamy tritium hour markers and hands, framed by the familiar black tachymeter bezel and housed within the classic twisted-lug Speedmaster case. The commemorative case back bears the inscription "Flight-Qualified by NASA for all Manned Space Missions – The First Watch Worn on the Moon," surrounding the Speedmaster hippocampus medallion. Powered by the manually wound caliber 861 chronograph movement and fitted to its stainless steel bracelet. Please note there remains a small amount of original red Omega factory seal wax on the case and case back, a detail often lost during servicing or refinishing over the years. A special Speedmaster that combines the appeal of a transitional late-1980s example with a direct connection to one of the most celebrated milestones in space exploration.
