Movado Ermeto Tiffany & Co. Triple Calendar Moon Phase Travel Watch 1940s–50s

Movado Ermeto Triple Calendar Moon Phase Retailed by Tiffany & Co. 1940s–50s

A charming vintage Movado Ermeto retailed by Tiffany & Co., dating to approximately the 1940s–50s. Designed as a compact travel or purse watch, the Ermeto is particularly clever for its sliding case: opening and closing the covers automatically winds the movement, making it a practical companion for travel.

The original dial is signed Tiffany & Co. and features a triple calendar with moon phase. A blue outer date track is indicated by a red-tipped pointer hand, with separate windows displaying the day and month and a moon phase aperture at 3 o’clock. Applied Arabic numerals and square hour markers complete the dial.

The calendar functions are adjusted through three recessed pushers: the lower left advances the date, the lower right advances the month, and the upper pusher marked M adjusts the moon phase. The crown is engraved with a decorative motif.

The metal case is wrapped in brown lizard leather, showing wear consistent with decades of use. The leather has pulled away along portions of the seams, and the case shows scratches, oxidation and general age-related wear. Hand-inscribed numbers and lettering are present on the case; we have not been able to determine whether these relate to Tiffany & Co. inventory or later service markings.

A charming and mechanically interesting Ermeto combining Movado’s ingenious sliding winding system with a Tiffany-signed dial and full calendar display.

The watch is running and keeping time; its service history is unknown. Please view the photographs closely as part of the condition description.
