A fascinating Corum Ingot from the 1980s, reference 55400, crafted around a genuine 15-gram platinum bar produced by the Union Bank of Switzerland. Best known for its coin watches, Corum brought the same ingenuity to precious metals, encasing the platinum ingot within a slim rectangular case. The dial is formed by the platinum bar itself, retaining the engraved PLATINUM 999.0, 15 g, and Union Bank of Switzerland markings, while the case back still retains remnants of its original black "PLATINUM" printing. Minimalist black pointed hands and the discreet Corum signature preserve the purity of the design. Finished with a diamond-set crown, powered by a manual wind movement, and fitted with its original Corum black lizard strap and Corum stainless steel buckle. A wonderfully unconventional dress watch and a conversation piece from one of Corum's most imaginative collections.
