The Vendôme has seen numerous iterations since its debut in 1973, and this early example is rare for its automatic caliber 170 movement. The 18k yellow gold case features a double-stepped bezel with cutouts at either end to accommodate a strap that integrates seamlessly into the design, paired with a small blue cabochon crown. It showcases Cartier’s signature dial, which has developed a charming speckled patina, with black Roman numerals, an outer minute track, and blued steel hands, and is signed Paris at the bottom. Fitted with a Cartier burgundy crocodile strap and a gold-plated buckle (non-Cartier), this uncommon 1970s piece blends vintage warmth with mechanical rarity.
