A sportier and more rugged take on the popular Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref. 14800ST, this steel model dated to 1994 features an attractive black dial with luminescent Arabic numerals and plots, paired with matching hands—often regarded as a “military dial.” The sweep seconds hand carries a luminescent arrow tip, while the date aperture at 3 o’clock completes the layout. The crown is signed by Audemars Piguet, and the watch is powered by a caliber 2225 automatic movement.
Fitted with an AP brown leather strap that has developed a pleasing patina and contrasting white stitching, the watch is secured by an AP-signed steel deployant clasp. This reference reflects the mid-1990s shift toward more utilitarian, tool-leaning Royal Oak variations. Rugged yet attractive readily comes to mind for this variant.
