A fascinating late 1960s French jewelry watch retailed by Cartier, powered by a Movado manual wind movement—an example of the period when prestigious maisons often relied on specialist makers for finely executed jewelry timepieces. The Cartier-signed dial has been previously refinished, while a diamond-set bezel surrounds the case in a floral-like arrangement, beautifully complemented by the substantial integrated 18k yellow gold bracelet with rich textured finishing. The concealed backwind function adds to the elegance of the design, keeping the silhouette uninterrupted, while the discreet jewelry clasp barely interrupts the bracelet’s seamless presentation save for a small lip to lift it. Both the case and bracelet bear French eagle hallmarks. A beautifully executed and uncommon period piece, with a bracelet alone that feels exceptionally robust and well made.
