Valued by many enthusiasts of the brand, this Day Date reference 1803 contains a neat story told in a collection of documents carefully stored by its owner, Mr. Balsley, retired Lieutenant of the U.S. Navy. Purchase receipt from Artland Watch Co. in Kowloon, Hong Kong reveals it was sold in 1970, and has undergone services throughout the years according to Rolex service documentations. An unusual detail of the lovely champagne dial are the black hands with center lume, distinct from the original raised gold markers that were later replaced by Rolex, presumably, on the request of Mr. Balsley for ease of legibility. We think it’s unusual but somehow befitting the overall design. Each lume plot is intact, the Presidential band contains the buckle-style clasp. Certificate of Guarantee, Chronometer Certification, service documentations and purchase receipts accompany this piece. You can tell this vintage Presidential watch was greatly cherished and has been taken great care of.
It has been worn: received service throughout the course of the years, hands are original and replaced by Rolex. Previously polished, band has some structure loss.
