A wonderfully sculptural ladies’ Rolex from the 1970s, distinguished by its richly textured design and concealed-dial construction — a concept often associated with Rolex Precision models, though this example is not officially signed as such.
The surface treatment evokes organic coral formations, with dimensional texture flowing across the bracelet and concealed cover in a continuous, tactile pattern. The hinged cover — shaped as an enlarged interpretation of the bracelet’s oval links — must be held open to reveal the dial beneath, adding an intimate and playful element to the design A white dial is revealed offering contrast to the bold exterior and can be seen peeking through the cover. Raised gold hour markers punctuate the surface, with the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock numerals and matching hands accented in black for clarity and balance.
The clasp introduces a variation in texture with fine hatching detail and is finished with a Rolex crown motif. The winding crown is signed Rolex, and the watch is powered by the manual-wind caliber 1400 movement.
Expressive, textural, and strikingly different, this is a piece for the vintage enthusiast drawn to unusual design — a bold yet artful statement on the wrist.
