A Patek Philippe pocket watch, rare to find one crafted in 14k yellow gold from the early 1900s. Designed as a hunting case measuring 33 mm, retailed by Fred Allen & Co, a high end retailer from Galveston. Galveston was a prospering sea port city during this time, being the third richest city in the U.S. Fred Allen & Co sold luxury wares to this flourishing city, and a sampling of their demitasse collection is exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Case is stamped with Patek Philippe’s emblem and name, as well as “Made for F. Allen & Co Galveston, Texas”. Features a Patek Philippe & Co white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour indices, outer minute track, spade hands and continuous seconds dial. Powered by a Patek nickeled manual wind movement. Outer case contains an engraving of ‘Claudia’. A lovely little pocket watch signed Patek Philippe containing long standing history from Texas, running strong.
