A grand complicated watch, the Patek Philippe 5015J is a looker and quite a substantial piece. Research shows about 3000 of these models were produced during 1994-99. The details are numerous: beautifully decorated beads adorn the bezel, elegant officers lugs and a snap case back revealing a gorgeous Patek caliber 240 with a 22k micro rotor easily viewed through its crystal, and topped with a charming onion crown. The complications of the white dial are wonderfully proportioned : 48 hour power reserve indicator, moonphase, and a small seconds of which elegantly cuts off a portion of the black Arabic numeral hours. Black anodized spade hands add to the elegance of this piece. Fitted with a black Patek crocodile strap and Patek-signed 18k tang buckle. An archive has been ordered from Patek, and combined with its fine condition makes it a great collector’s watch.
