The Speedmaster is undoubtedly Omega’s most iconic creation, made legendary as the first watch worn on the moon. This reference 145.022-69, dating to the early 1970s, was introduced after the lunar landing and is particularly prized for its case back with “Straight Writing” engraving, a feature well regarded by collectors. It features the classic black tachymeter bezel framing a black chronograph dial that shows aging with patina and some surface deterioration, while the luminous plots have largely worn away. It is powered by the caliber 861 manual-wind movement, and fitted with an Omega-signed crystal. The steel watch is completed by its period-correct Omega bracelet stamped 1039/516. A true icon of space history and vintage horology alike.
