A seriously gorgeous and delightfully unusual vintage Movado, playful in concept and execution with a dramatic two-tone, two-faced design split cleanly down the center of both case and dial.
Accompanied by its original presentation box, warranty, instructional booklet, and matching serial-numbered hang tag, the printed materials date this example to 1976 — a wonderful and complete time capsule from the era.
Now to the fun part: the rectangular case is vertically divided into two 18k gold tones — yellow gold on the left and white gold on the right. The dial mirrors this duality but in reverse, with silver on the left and gold on the right, creating a subtle visual tension. Its surface has a mirror-like finish and remains intentionally spare, free of embellishment aside from the printed Movado signature, “Swiss Made,” and petite hands.
The Movado-signed crown is rendered in white gold, aligning with the right side of the case and reinforcing the deliberate asymmetry of the design.
Powered by a Zenith caliber 1120 manual-wind movement, this piece combines bold aesthetics with respected mechanics.
