A rare vintage Cartier Tank Jumbo from the 1970s offers an elegant blend of history, craftsmanship, and enduring style. Produced in limited numbers in London or Paris, this reference 5512116 is distinguished by its stepped case, a bold variation on the classic Tank silhouette. Crafted in 14k gold-plated brass by case maker UNROC, the case gives vintage character with its rich tone. The star of the show, however, is the rare blue dial, a seldom-seen feature, adorned with gold-painted Roman numerals, an inner minute track, and golden hands—adds depth from the contrast. Topped with Cartier’s signature blue cabochon crown, the watch is powered by the manually wound caliber 2512. Completing the piece is a Cartier black lizard strap, paired with a period-correct plated Cartier tang buckle stamped “CC” and “UNROC.” This Tank wears larger than many of its variants—hence the "Jumbo" nickname. Well-preserved and increasingly hard to find in this condition, this is a true collector’s gem.
