A vintage Cartier Tank “Automatique” reference 17002 in 18k yellow gold, crafted during the 1970s. The Tank Louis is the most enduring and iconic model from Cartier, after its launch nearly 100 years ago. The Jumbo was introduced in the 1970s, larger than its classic variants measuring 28 mm across, and smaller than the XL versions. The Jumbo is the only Tank Louis featuring an automatic movement, evident when the watch is turned over revealing the bubbled back accommodating the automatic caliber. Features the standard white dial with black Roman numeral hour indices, blued-steel sword-shaped hands, and blue cabochon crown. Fitted with a black leather strap and its original 18k logo pin buckle. Although the movement gives additional height, it is not apparent while worn on the wrist. This piece is for the vintage enthusiast who may find the classic size too small, delighted to know it is not commonly found in the market as production during that time was smaller than today’s standard.
