A very nice preowned Cartier Tank Basculante reference 2386 in stainless steel, crafted circa 2001. This is a charming version of Cartier’s Tank line, based on their first Cabriolet model in 1932 that features a swing frame to protect the crystal once turned over. The stainless configurations were introduced in the late 1990s, ours is stamped 2001 on the back. Can be worn with the dial hidden out of view and Cartier boldly stamped underneath the blue sapphire cabochon. While this function may not pertain to today’s needs, it is a fascinating detail that sets it apart from the regular Tank models and manages to sit flush on the wrist.
