The Diabolo is one of Cartier’s more charming and curious designs, distinguished by its officer-style lugs and satisfyingly chunky proportions. This 2000s example features a bright white dial with bold black Roman numerals, an outer minute track, blued-steel Breguet-style hands, a sweep seconds hand, and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. The crown has been replaced with an elongated blue cabochon, a detail that unexpectedly suits the model’s quirky aesthetic.
Powered by a quartz movement for easy, carefree upkeep, it is fitted with a Cartier black crocodile strap and secured by an 18k Cartier deployant clasp. While not the most widely recognized model from the brand, the Diabolo carries a distinct charm all its own, expressed through its playful, chunky design.
