A vintage and rare Audemars Piguet skeletonized watch in 18k white gold, crafted during the 1970s. The 47.3 mm case features black enamel Roman numeral hour markers on the satin-finish bezel and is flanked by 60 diamonds, and the tapered bow contains 9 diamonds. The decorative engraving of the gold movement is fully seen on either sides; truly a masterpiece created by Audemars Piguet consisting of hours of meticulous craftsmanship in the openwork technique, simply complemented by blued-steel feuille hands. A similar variant is prominently illustrated in: Audemars Piguet by Gisbert L. Brunner, Christian Pfeiffer-Belli, Martin K. Wehrli, first edition, pl. 16a & b, pp. 90 & 91. A mesmerizing timepiece that would certainly delight a vintage collector.
