A beautiful and rare 18k yellow and white gold Audemars Piguet produced circa mid 1950’s. This special piece features a channel set baguette sapphire on the broad flat white gold bezel for the hours encased in a yellow gold case. The craftsmanship is particularly exquisite in the way the sapphires appear invisibly set, a technique achieved by cutting grooves to accommodate the sides of the sapphires allowing them to slide in. This vintage watch makes a statement for its rarity and uniqueness, would make for great conversation for a watch aficionado, for either men or women. This model appeared in an issue of Audemars Piguet Second Edition, 2000 by Brunner et. al., figure 188.
