A late 1990s Cartier Tank Basculante in stainless steel, wonderfully constructed in a compact 22mm size. The dark grey patterned dial is contrasted by bright white stylized Arabic numerals and silvered sword-shaped hands, giving the watch a distinctive monochromatic look.

The Basculante's hinged case is the highlight of the design, allowing the watch head to pivot within its frame and turn completely over. It opens and closes smoothly and can remain upright within the frame. A blue cabochon accents the case, while the crown is cleverly concealed and accessed only when the watch is flipped from its usual position.
